Informal Ladies Night: Dooleys Catholic Club, Lidcombe: 29 February

Courtesy of www.ladiesonly.se All Rights ReservedCopyright © 2008.

With the "leap day" falling this coming Friday (29 February, of course!), the brethren; with much prodding, decided to give the Ladies the TLC they much deserved.

An informal Ladies Night is slated at this date at Dooleys Catholic Club, Church St (nearest corner John & Church Sts; car park entrance at Church St, click here for directions/map), Lidcombe at about 7 PM (you can come as early or as late as you like, depending on your schedules). This is just a simple get-together of sorts to honour our Amasons.

According to Wikipedia, leap years were conceived:

"...to keep the calendar year synchronised with the astronomical or seasonal year. For example, February would have 29 days in a leap year instead of the usual 28. Seasons and astronomical events do not repeat at an exact number of full days, so a calendar which had the same number of days in each year would over time drift with respect to the event it was supposed to track. By occasionally inserting (or intercalating) an additional day or month into the year, the drift can be corrected. A year which is not a leap year is called a common year."

This is a good as any day to also "synchronise" and touch base with our FilMasons' friends and ladies. "Life is too short" not to hold any fellowship, least of all before the end of this "love" month.

As per traditions, this is the "traditional time women can propose marriage. In many of today's cultures, it is okay for a woman to propose marriage to a man. Society doesn't look down on such women. However, that hasn't always been the case. When the rules of courtship were stricter, women were only allowed to pop the question on one day every four years."
This is also good day to be with our ladies, lest someone takes fancy (as if!) and indecently propose to us! So we hope to see you there with your ladies.

Sis Odeng, and myself at Auburn Soccer club around 7:30pm.

Rgds,

Bro MannyS

Galing kami kagabi sa above Dooleys Cathloic Club Lidcombe) and I was surprised with the improvement nila sa eatery, spacious and new.

A steak plus vege n chips at $8.00 and fush n chups with salad at the same cost from the std menu. Plenty of tables n sections plus the pokies. Beer is $3.20 a schooner. If our no. is only 12-15 couples I can not see a prob.

Just a suggestion, I prefer this venue, if not yet decided.

Similarly everybody not a member is required to register. Also Friday may be a busy nite but we can squeeze in and arrange to have tables for attendees. Pls try the place so you can see coz it’s a different setting from Auburn Soccer Club at least the Ladies can feel different with us getting their dinner and drinks in this venue.

Can we sell this?

Rgds,

Bro MannyS

For us, Friday night is a time for the Lord through our prayer group which is relatively small so missing one night is not a good thing to do. That's the reason why I could not affiliate with Lodge Beauty.

The option is for Amy and I to split up on the night to be able for at least one of us to make it to each occasion, but that invariably defeats the purpose of the Ladies Night.

I have no choice but to miss our Ladies Night for the first time since I joined in and this activity came up - about 10 years or so ago. Kina Ramie pa yata.

Regards,

Dan

Bro Dan,

Thank you for responding and we understand. There is really no need to sound apologetic, but I know how you and Sis Amy will miss this event. There are others pa naman at saka informal Ladies Night lang to kaya "officially" you will not miss it except for the fellowship.

Again, thanks for the response at sama mo na lang kami sa inyong mga prayers. We know how important this to you and Sis Amy, you guys will be missed too!

Regards,

Bro Mar

Dahil wala ako sa work I’ll sell this today and hopefully convince El Prexy to sey yes too!

Bro Mannys

Unang una, salamat sa inyo ni Bro Mar for so actively continuing this project. Apologies kami ni sis for Friday because I am doing monthend at work which means a very late finish. All we can do is pray for a great time for those who can make it.

Hi Mar, Bubot,

Pasensya na. I can’t be there. Nicole has a birthday party on Saturday (lunch) with a group of her friends. Friday night is about the only time I can prepare the food for the party.

Bobby may want to take pictures of the event so I am not going to stop him attending.

Apologies.

Nanette

I’m here, just arrived from work. I had just finished reading all the responses. I admire your great effort and thank you very much.

We will see you on Friday Night. For sure we will enjoy the Ladies Night and the fellowship of the Brethren.

Please don’t forget to announce our next monthly meeting which is on Saturday (about lunch time), 22 March 2008 at WBro. Jack Sta Maria’s holiday home in Mannering.

As per WBro. Jack, we can stay there overnight or so and remember that Monday, 24th March is also a Public Holiday. It will be good time to extend our holidays on Saturday and Sunday inclusive.

Regards,

Fidel

Just kidding you WB Pres Fidel. I knowhowbusy you are at work and your Grand Lodge duties.

Bro Manny,

Thanks for the e-mail invite, and sorry for the late reply. I almost did not get to read your e-mail because it was filtered by our office's over active spam filter. Lucky I was reviewing them before deleting and I found your e-mail.

Anyways, I would have wanted to go, and I'm sure sis would have loved to party with us, kaya lang wala dito mother ko, nasa Pinas, and so no one can look after my little one tomorrow night. Pass na lang muna kami this time, and please extend my regards and my apologies to the brods and
sis.

Cheers,
Bro Bruce

Enjoy, Be sure to burn you excess calories so you wont accumulate "collateral".

I am here in Baguio City after spending 2 days in Ilocandia - Batac, Vigan,San Juan, Fort Ilocandia, visited the wax body of Marcos, took a caretela ride pounding the streets of Vigan, bought some habel iloko.

BTW, I have attended the regular meeting of my mother Lodge - Service Lodge No.95 at the Plaridel Masonic Temple last Friday and will hopefully meet the MW GM Jaime Gonzales.

Would love to see your photos when we all come back.Received Valentine text from my wife yesterday while I was in Fort Ilocandia (now leased to a group of Chinese businessmen, the Paoay Golf course to Korean businessmen who arrive by the planeloads to play golf).

Keep on dancing,
